Halloween 2011

This year for Halloween we all decided to be "Super Hero's"! Well, except for Manuel who didn't dress up, and Samuel who was a little spider.  We first got to sport our costumes at the ward trunk or treat. They had a chile feed and of course the trunk or treat.  I didn't get a group pic of us there, but here's a few others that I thought were cute!

Then for Halloween today, I signed up to take cupcakes to Alayna's class Halloween party. When I was down to the last minute of taking them, I wanted to come up with a way of taking them "in style" so I threw this cupcake stand together.

I used my glass cake stand and the to make it tiered I used a candle holder and hot glued cardboard pizza boxes that I cut into circles and decorated with paper.
Alayna helped me bake the cupcakes and picked out the colors, sprinkles and cupcake thingy mi bobbers.

We even delivered them "in style" as Cat Women and Spider Man!

For Arieanna's we just took some "Witches Brew".

I wanted to do an actual cauldron and serve it out of it with dry ice as the smoke coming out, but I wasn't sure how the teacher would react to that.  So this was the next best thing.

And, the whole family right before going trick or treating.  I'm Cat Woman, Arieanna is Wonder Woman, Alayna is daughter of Captain America, Isaiah is Spider Man, Noah is Batman and Samuel is my little spider.  Maybe just maybe I can get Manuel to dress up next year.

We had a fun Halloween this year and I hope you guys did too!
Happy Halloween!

Happy Birthday to Me

Yep, on October 30, I celebrated another year of life! I'm 27.  Can you believe that?! It was actually a really nice one cause my b-day fell on a Sunday and I got to see the kids do their program.  That was their present to me, to sing nice and loud and memorize their parts.  They delivered and along with it made me some cards.

The day before my B-day, the girls (Ashleigh and Steph) and I decided that we were gonna go to golds gym and do body pump and body combat.  Let me tell you, it was awesome! Then afterward we went to get our feet done.  The girls paid for mine for my birthday! You girls are so sweet, thank you!

Meanwhile back at home my Hubby surprised me! The story is actually funny cause I was on the potty talking to him (yep, I like to chit chat while I'm on the pot) and was telling him how long it's been since he's surprised me with something on my birthday.  Don't know why but as I was telling him that I was reminded of the sink in the bathroom.  It was plugging up cause Noah stuck a penny down it, so I asked him if he could fix it.  He gladly said yes and went to get some needle nose pliers to get it out.  As he was attempting to get it out he kindly asked me if I could go down to the basement to turn off the main water valve cause it was gonna be harder than he thought.  I didn't really want to but I went anyways cause I was sooo tired of the darn sink being plugged.  When I turned on the light to go to the valve all I saw was this...

...He is so clever! You know the sink....the water valve...what a smart little cookie! This really made my day even better! He's always full of good surprises for me and is so sneaky about it!  I love this man of mine!
I also got a chocolate bar from Kim H. and gift card for target from my sis-in-law.  Thank you chica's!

Well, here's to another year of life!!

R.I.P

Manuel and I were sitting in the living room enjoying ourselves before we heard this big bang on the window.  Both of us startled, didn't know what to think.  "What the heck was that?" I replied, "I have no idea" Manuel said.  I thought maybe some kids were messing around and threw something at our window or something to that nature.  Then as I looked outside, I saw this poor little thing laying on the bark right below the window...

evidently this poor bird thought that it could fly through our window.  It kind of reminded me of that Windex commercial with the birds in it and how the window looks soo clean that they can fly right through it.  You know what commercial I'm talking about right? Anyhow, I hope this bird can "Rest In Peace" now that it killed itself :-(

Later that night my poor little Samuel fell and got his first huge bump on his forehead, due to the rest of the kids horsing around :-(

We were so lucky that it didn't split open cause that would have been our third kid with stitches. Don't ask me why he's smiling, I guess whenever he sees the flash of the camera he knows it's picture time lol.  Doesn't it look nasty? My poor baby :-(

Birthday Gifts

I couldn't think of anything that I could get for birthday gifts without spending money.  Then it dawned on me the other day when I was looking at my "Blessings" blocks.  Manuel had some 2x4 scraps along with some that I got from my dad and I had scrap paper galore.  With a little mod podge and my cricut expression I was able to try some blocks on my own.  What a perfect gift eh? Especially when I had everything already.

These are the "Blessings" blocks that I tried to replicate. I got them as a Christmas gift from my sis.

And here are the ones that I did.

I wish I would have did a few things different, but not too shabby huh?

This is what I came up for Manuel's cousin's gift.

After seeing the finished product on this one I wanted to keep it for myself lol. Well, my tools, paper and cricut ain't going nowhere so I'll be making myself one too!!

Pumpkin Carving and Other Things

This year for our pumpkins my Mom found these really cute ideas in a magazine for us to do.  I went ahead and did a family night full of pumpkin carving and decorating with the Thornocks and my Mom! Here's how they turned out.

Other things I've accomplished this month so far is making an apple pie and cheese zombies.

And...I know I said I was gonna get a hairstyle blog, I just haven't had the time to throw one together.  So, here's some new hairstyles I've tried.

This one is like a mirrored effect.  I braided from the top and bottom then gathered them in the middle.

The side braid always looked soo pretty to me!

I've been wanting to try the fish braid for the longest time...So here's a little hairdo I threw together with that.

These are twist braids, I think I showed them before but this time I did them in a twist french braid thingy mi bobber.

Well, that's just a few things so far this month.  Can't wait to tell you about how the rest of it goes!!

Conference Weekend

This last weekend was quite fun! On Friday after school we went to the Sunnyview Park where they had an expo (you know, where they advertise different businesses around the area).  We got to go around booth to booth to check out all the cool stuff.  The one we liked the most was the XCape hair salon one, we got a color of our choice hair extension!  I know you can't really see the colors we chose, but Arieanna got blond, I got purple and Alayna got pink.

Then on Saturday morning we had the healthiest breakfast ever! Pancakes with Hershey kisses as the eyes, peanut butter cups as the nose and whip cream and grapes as the mouth and hair. Oh, and don't forget the peanut butter we spread all over the pancake first.  Mmm, mmm, mmm!

Noah just couldn't wait, he already had chocolate in his mouth.

Later that day, Tia Aybet treated the girls out to new shoes! They are those Twinkle toes by Sketchers.  They've been wanting these shoes for the longest time and finally got them! Manuel thinks their uglier then sin but who cares right? As long as the girls like 'em. I think they're cute and that's all that matters!

Here they are modeling them for you...

Sunday morning (Saturday too) it was General Conference! I can't help but think that it was totally directed towards me lol.  The talks really inspired me and I merely enjoyed every bit of them! I love when I get the chance to here from our dear loving Prophet.  I'm soo grateful for my family and all that Heavenly Father has given me.  I know that through faith and prayer that I can build a loving relationship with Him.  I also know that through Him all things are possible! I'm grateful for the church in my life and for the opportunity to teach my beautiful kids the importance of it. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Well, that how our weekend went.  It was alot of fun!
